Women's Soccer draws with Becker at Shewcraft Field

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer team drew with Becker this afternoon in non conference action at Shewcraft Field.  The Trailblazers held a brief 1-0 lead in the second half, but Becker would respond and the game ended 1-1 in double overtime.  MCLA is now 1-6-1 on the season while the Hawks are now 3-5-2.

After a scoreless first half in which Becker outshot MCLA 19-0, the Trailblazers came out firing in the second half.  Cetera Moore would start the scoring in the 58th minute of play as she converted a Natalia Gerena pass for a 1-0 lead.  The goal was the third of the season for Moore.

The lead was shortlived however as the Hawks immediately put the pressure on MCLA.  In the 64th minute, they finally tied things up.  Kristen Beidleman scored off a Shannon Kelley pass to tie the match up at 1-1.  The game would head to OT from there.

In the OT sessions, Becker held the advantage as they outshot MCLA 7-0.  The Hawks almost walked away with the win in double overtime as they hit the crossbar, but ultimately could not net the game winner.

Megan Richardson was outstanding in goal for MCLA collecting 19 saves in the match.

Becker's Olivia Sherwood stopped 4 shots for the Hawks.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they head to Fitchburg State.
