Women’s Soccer Rolls Through Bay Path

LONGMEADOW, Mass.—The MCLA Women's Soccer Team took to the road this afternoon, traveling to Bay Path University for a non-conference matchup with the Wildcats at Ryan Field. Catelyn Hodge picked up a haul, while Cidnee Frymire and Kylie DeMaio each finished with a brace in the Trailblazers' 10-0 blowout of the Wildcats.

HIGHLIGHTS
- First-year midfielder Catelyn Hodge (Schenectady, NY) scored the first goal of the game for the Trailblazers with only 6:24 off the clock. She doubled the road team's advantage only 17 seconds later with an assist from sophomore midfielder Kylie DeMaio (Roxbury, NY). The DeMaio to Hodge connection succeeded again in the 9th minute to give Hodge her first collegiate hat trick. Hodge added a fourth goal in the 63rd minute with an assist from junior forward Cidnee Frymire (Tonawanda, NY). Hodge now has a team-high six goals on the year.
- The quick-fire offense for MCLA started again in the 27th minute with Frymire scoring unassisted. Frymire then picked up an assist on first-year goalkeeper Destiny Alexandra Rivas' (Leicester, MA) first career goal in the 29th minute.
- DeMaio scored two more goals for the Trailblazers to close out the first half. Hodge assisted the first in the 40th minute, and the second was assisted by first-year forward Lauren Campbell (Bennington, VT) in the 44th minute. The two goals increased DeMaio's total to four.
- In the 69th minute, senior midfielder Natalie Rich (Waterford, NY) picked up her first goal of the season and second of her career. Graduate midfielder Anna Lewis (North Monmouth, ME) picked up the assist.
- Frymire added one more goal in the 73rd minute, setting the final score at 10-0.
- Trailblazers' goalkeeper, Rivas picked up her first win, improving to 1-0-0. The Wildcats' Seralyn Lendroth suffered the defeat to fall to 0-2-0.
UP NEXT:
On Sunday, MCLA will be back in action when they play host to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy for a MASCAC matchup with the Buccaneers at Shewcraft Field. The teams will take the pitch for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
