  • Series History: Worcester State leads the all-time series 25-7-1, including a 5-0 Lancers win in North Adams last season on October 6th. MCLA took the first-ever meeting between the teams 10-0 on September 21, 1991, in North Adams.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Worcester State started the scoring in the ninth minute when Maddie Breuer (9th minute, unassisted) knocked home the rebound of a shot by Ava Lemanski, that fell right to her feet in front of an open net.
  •  The Lancers doubled up their lead before the half-time break when Amanda Cosco (39th minute) scored on a looping shot from about 20 yards out. Michaela O'Brien created the turnover that led to the goal and was credited with an assist.
  • Less than two minutes into the second half, Jessica Forbes (47th minute) extended the host's lead to 3-0, with O'Brien picking an assist.
  • First-year midfielder Catelyn Hodge (Schenectady, NY) scored what would be MCLA's lone tally of the game in the 51st minute.
  • Emma Jacobs added an additional insurance goal for the Lancers in the 52nd minute, and O'Brien picked up her third assist of the game.
  • Trailblazers' keeper Destiny Alexandra Rivas picked up a baker's dozen, 13 saves, but still saw their record fall to 1-1-0. Worcester States' Ella Gumienny picked up the win to even her record at 5-5-2.
