Women's Tennis falls to Castleton 6-3 in NAC Tennis
Pittsfield, MA- The MCLA Women's Tennis team got off to a strong start, but they failed to keep it going in singles as they fell to NAC foe, Castleton State 6-3 this afternoon. The match was held at Berkshire West Athletics Center in Pittsfield.
MCLA drops to 1-7 overall, while Castleton moves to 7-6.
The Trailblazers earn a pair of points in the doubles matches to jump ahead. The team of Sarah Murphy and Stephanie Giardina earned an 8-6 win in the top slot, while Laura Laureano and Sarah Cowdell won 8-5 in the third doubles slot. Castleton's Chelsea Crehan and Sara Novenstein earned their lone doubles point.
MCLA couldn't keep the momentum going though, dropping five of the six singles matches. Megan Holmes earned the lone singles point for MCLA.
The Trailblazers return to the court on Monday when they host Becker College at Noon.
