McGovern tabbed NAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year

North Adams, MA- MCLA Women's Tennis Head Coach Holly McGovern was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Coach of the Year as announced by the league offices this morning. McGovern was selected following a league wide vote of the coaches.
McGovern, in only her third season at the helm of the women's tennis program at MCLA, has directed the Trailblazer women to a 7-6 overall record, including a 4-2 mark in conference play and the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NEAC East Championship Tournament. The MCLA team has made dramatic improvements, as the team recorded a 1-12 overall record (0-5 NEAC East) one season ago. The Trailblazers will be competing for their first NEAC East championship title.
The Trailblazers will head to Colby College tomorrow to face Castleton in the semifinal round of the playoffs. The playoffs are being hosted by Thomas (ME) College, who will battle Colby Sawyer in the other matchup. The winners will play for the championship tomorrow afternoon.
MCLA fell to Castleton earlier this season 5-4.
