Women's Tennis earns first W of 2019 with NAC triumph over Thomas

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Women's Tennis team earned their first win of the 2019 season with a hard fought 5-4 win over the visiting Thomas Terriers this afternoon in North Adams.  The Trailblazers improve to 1-2 overall and are 1-0 in the conference.

Thomas dips to 0-4 overall and is 0-1 in the league.

MCLA took two of the three doubles matches to get off to a good start.  Briana Higgins and Mackenna Jordan earned a point in the top doubles slot while Alyssa Keegan and Jessica Dupont also collected one for an early lead.

Thomas' Makayla Guerette and Abigail Stevens earned the doubles point for the Terriers.

In singles play, Keegan put another point on the board with a straight set win for MCLA while Guerette answered in the sixth slot for Thomas making it 3-2 in favor of MCLA.

Jordan would collect her second point of the day and when McKenna Clark defeated Cassidy Hamm, MCLA had the victory in hand.

Thomas would collect the final two points as Alexis Nestor and Magan Williams won in the top two singles slots.

MCLA is back in action tomorrow at 10am when they host Husson at the complex.
