Volleyball drops season opener to Eastern Nazarene 3-0

Quincy, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team dropped their 2012 opener this evening dropping a 3-0 decision at the hands of Eastern Nazarene.  The match marked the first of the year for each program.

Eastern Nazarene jumped out early in game one as they led 10-3.  MCLA would rally though, eventually tying the game at 17 before succombing to the hosts, who outscored the Trailblazers 8-2 to close out the game.

Game two was more of the same as MCLA found themselves in a 10-5 hole early.  After scoring three straight points to cut the margin to 10-8, Eastern Nazarene would go on a 7-1 run to take command.

The slow starts continued in game three as MCLA was down 6-0 out of the gates.  The Trailblazers never really recovered and dropped the last game 25-11.

Courtney Parent had a nice night collecting 10 assists for MCLA.  Darien Quick and Allie Chang each recorded four kills in the loss.

MCLA is back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Bennington, VT for a tri match with Norwich and Southern Vermont.
