Trailblazers go 1-2 in MCLA Invitational

North Adams, MA- Kean University went 3-0 to capture the MCLA Volleyball Invitational this afternoon in North Adams.  The Cougars went 3-0 to capture the title.  Cougar Samantha Sacco was named the tournament's most outstanding player.

Kean defeated Daniel Webster in their opener in four sets (25-10, 25-9, 25-27, 25-17).  They would follow that up with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-8) victory over host MCLA.  The Cougars would then defeat SUNY Cobleskill 3-0 to wrap up the title.

Cobleskill wrapped up the afternoon at 1-2.  The Tigers defeated MCLA in the opening match in five sets (25-16, 21-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-13).  Cobleskill then fell to Daniel Webster in another five setter before losing to eventual champion Kean 3-0 in the nightcap.

Daniel Webster went 1-2 on the afternoon.  The Eagles lost the opener to Kean in four sets before rallying to beat Cobleskill in a five set marathon.  DWU then dropped the finale to MCLA in four sets.

MCLA went 1-2 during the tournament, dropping their first two contests before rallying to beat Daniel Webster in four sets.
