Trailblazers split afternoon Tri-Match with Bard and Johnson State
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers Volleyball team hosted a Tri-Match this afternoon with the visiting Bard College Raptors and the Johnson State College Badgers.
Bard College defeated the host Trailblazers in the opener in 5 sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20, 15-8). The Raptors followed that up with a 3-1 (25-14, 26-24, 25-15, 25-19) victory over Johnson State. The Raptors finished 2-0 on the afternoon. Against MCLA Senior Cara Chalk had a good performance with 16 kills on 43 attempts and 3 blocks.
The Johnson State College Badgers fell to 1-15 on the season after today's matches. Senior Kylie VanEtten gave a valiant effort on the defensive end finishing with 7 digs against the host Trailblazers.
After the Trailblazers fell to Bard College in the opener, they rebounded to win a 3 set match against the Badgers (25-18. 25-4, 25-13). Trailblazer teammates Courtney Parent and Amanda Fleming both served 5 aces a piece in the impressive victory.
The Trailblazers will look to capture more wins Monday afternoon at the Mass. Maritime Tri-Match.
