MCLA wins final home match 3-0

North Adams, MA- The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts hosted their last home match of the 2012 season this afternoon. The Traiblazers won in style beating the visiting SUNY-IT Wildcats 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-22).

Game one got started when the Trailblazers scored 4 points of aces served by sophomore Amanda Fleming. Classmate Allie Chang chipped in with 3 aces and 2 kills.

In game two junior Julia Christian was 100 percent having 3 kills on 3 attempts. She finished the day with 10 kills on 17 attempts.

In the last set of the afternoon the Wildcats went down, but put up a fight. Kailtyn Harrington had 5 kills on the set with the help of Erika Reakes who had 6 assists.

Defensively for the visiting Wildcats Hanne Saarinen had 14 digs and teammates Harrington and Reakes had 8 digs a piece.

The Trailblazers will now travel to conference foe Westfield this coming Wednesday for the quarterfinal round of the MASCAC tournament. This afternoons match marked the last regular season match for the Wildcats and for senior Jessica Sass.
