Volleyball swept at Norwich

Norwich, VT- The MCLA Volleyball was swept this afternoon in Norwich dropping a 3-2 decision to Anna Maria before falling 3-0 to host Norwich in the nightcap.  MCLA is now 8-8 on the season.

The Trailblazers dropped a nail biter in the opening set 28-26 while Norwich cruised to a 25-17 win in set two.  They would close out MCLA 25-21 in the third set.

MCLA was paced by Rachel Mills' 8 kills in game two.  Darien Quick chipped in with 7 kills.  Courtney Parent added 15 assists in the loss, while Allie Chang had 15 digs.

Norwich was led by Corinne Baita's match high 14 kills.  She added 13 digs.  Kelsey Mancini finished with 11 kills.  Katherine Crane had a team best 27 assists in the win.

MCLA was hampered by 23 attack errors in the loss.

The Trailblazers will host Mitchell College Tuesday night at 7pm.

 

Anna Maria Recap

Norwich, VT- The MCLA Trailblazers Volleyball team dropped a hard fought 3-2 decision to the Anna Maria Amcats in a match held at Norwich University this afternoon.  MCLA falls to 8-7 overall while the Amcats improve to 8-9.

Anna Maria took the opening set easily at 25-15.  MCLA would rally to even it up at 1-1 with a 25-20 win.  The Amcats nipped MCLA 25-23 in the third before the Trailblazers stayed alive with a 28-26 win in the fourth.  The fifth set went to AMC 15-7 to close out the match.

Margaret Allen led MCLA with 11 kills on 28 attacks.  The Trailblazers were well balanced with five other players registering at least five kills.  Courtney Parent and Tayler Wiese each contibuted 16 assists.  Allie Chang notched a team best 25 digs while Rachel Mills added 21.

For Anna Maria, they were led by Telliah Bursie's match best 15 kills on 32 attempts.  Jessica Goulet added 12 kills for AMC.  Samantha Parker tallied an impressive 44 assists and 16 digs.  Rebecca Foti had 23 digs
