Volleyball nets program record 12th straight win as they defeat Anna Maria 3-1

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team set a program record by notching their 12th straight win as they defeated visiting Anna Maria 3-1 this evening in non conference action.  The Trailblazers improve to 13-3 on the season while the Amcats fall to 7-8.

MCLA took the final three sets after AMC took game one 25-23.  The Trailblazers responded by winning 25-14, 25-22, and 25-19 to close out the win.

The pivotal set was game three when AMC held a 22-19 advantage following an MCLA error.  The Trailblazers wouldn't panic though as they earned the next six points to take command.  They benefitted from a pair of attack errors and when Angelica Perfido notched a kill, MCLA had a 2-1 set lead.

In the third set with the game tied at 15, MCLA took ultimate control.  A Margaret Allen ace started it and following an attack error by the Amcats, MCLA led 19-15.  The visitors wouldn't get within more than three and the Trailblazers closed it out after a Brittney Pihl ace and another attack error to earn the win.

Allison Clark led the offense for MCLA with 12 kills.  She added 8 digs on the night.  Perfido and Rachel Mills had 8 kills each while Perfido ended with a team best 16 digs.  Courtney Parent collected 17 assists and Beatrice Lechler ended with 10.  Chanielle Enomoto also had 16 digs and Pihl had 10 of her own.

For the Amcats, they were led by Jessica Goulet's 11 kills.  Samantha Parker notched a game best 29 assists while Amari King tallied 17 digs.  Parker, Brittany Jackson, and Carolina Garcia all had double digit digs as well.

The Trailblazers will look to continue their hot streak when they travel to Hartwick this weekend for a tournament.
