MCLA handles Salem to remain atop MASCAC, sweep tri match with Delhi

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team kept rolling today as they swept a tri match with Delhi and MASCAC foe Salem State in moving to 19-7 overall on the season.  The 3-0 win over Salem State kept MCLA atop the MASCAC standings at 4-0.  The Trailblazers also defeated SUNY Delhi by a 3-0 margin.  Salem State falls to 5-13 overall and stands at 2-3 in conference play.  Delhi drops to 15-13 on the season.

In MCLA's match vs. Salem, they won by set scores of 25-16, 27-25, and 25-17.

Allison Clark once again paced MCLA with 14 kills and 14 digs.  Brittney Pihl added a match best 22 digs in the win.  Margaret Allen chipped in with 10 kills while Courtney Parent set up the offense with 20 assists.  Chanielle Enomoto added 13 digs and Angelica Perfido added 11.

For the Vikings, they were paced by Emily Peay's 12 kills on 37 attacks.  She also added 10 digs. Mackenzie Salls notched 27 assists in defeat .

In the opener against Delhi, MCLA won via set scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-21.  

MCLA was led by Allison Clark who notched a match best 17 kills on 31 attacks.  Rachel Mills added 6 kills in the opener while Beatrice Lechler and Taylor Wiese had 16 and 12 assists respectively.  Chanielle Enomoto finished the match with 19 digs and Lechler added 12.

For the Broncos, they were paced by Julia Bretts and Kristen Maslanka who each had 5 kills.  Joy Clark had 16 assists and Maslanka added 15 digs.

Salem State defeated the Broncos 3-0 in the final match of the day.

MCLA is back in action on Thursday when they travel to Worcester State in a MASCAC match.
