2015 MASCAC Volleyball Tournament Central

Welcome to the home page fo the 2015 MASCAC Volleyball Championships.  The MCLA Trailblazers have claimed the top seed in the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tournament which began with the quarterfinal round on Wednesday, November 4.

MCLA will take on #4 seed Bridgewater State in the Saturday opening match beginning at Noon, while #2 seed Framingham State will battle #3 seed Westfield State at 2pm.  The Bears defeated #5 seed Salem State on Wednesday, while the Owls bested #6 seed Worcester State, both by 3-0 scores.

The two winners of Saturday's semifinals will face off 30 minutes following the completion of match #2 for the MASCAC Championship and the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

Last season, the Framingham State Rams defeated the Worcester State Lancers 3-0 to earn the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

Saturday, November 7th-

MCLA is entering tournament play off a season in which they set school records for victories, winning streak (13), and clinched a share of their first ever MASCAC title.  They are led by MASCAC first team selection Allison Clark, along with second team choices Rachel Mills and Angelica Perfido.  Clark burst on the scene this year as she leads the team in kills (402) and has collected 302 digs.  MCLA went 3-0 against the remaining teams during the regular season.

The Rams enter the tournament as the defending champions.  They went 23-8 during the regular season and were 5-1 in league play with their only setback at the hands of MCLA. FSU is led by the MASCAC Player of the Year Alycia Rackliffe.  She leads the conference in kills and is a two time player of the year.  The Rams also placed Danielle Girard and Julia Wan on the all conference team.

The Bears enter the tournament as the #4 seed and defeated Salem State in Wednesday's quarterfinal to earn rematch with MCLA.  The Bears enter the weekend with a mark of 13-19 which included a 3-3 mark in conference play.  They are led by all MASCAC performers Charleyne Panner, Hannah Maymon, and Ciara Goncalves.  BSU went 0-3 against the teams competing this weekend during the regular season.

The Owls enter this weekend as the third seed and defeated Worcester State 3-0 on Wednesday evening.  Westfield enters play with a mark of 15-15 overall which included a 4-2 mark in conference play, however those losses came at the hands of MCLA and Framingham.  They are led by MASCAC rookie of the year Lizzie Taylor and Kendyl Haney.
