Volleyball falls in four sets to Sage

North Adams, MA- The Sage College volleyball team dropped the first set but then rallied past the MCLA Trailblazers 3-1 this evening in non conference action from the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  With the win, the Gators improve to 8-13 while MCLA falls to 9-10 on the season.

Sage started slow and fell behind 19-7 in the opening set.  They would come storming back, but ultimately MCLA took the opener 25-20.  Sage would then take the next three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 25-18 to secure the win.

The Gators were paced by setter Rachel Liebig's game high 30 assists.  She fed Michayla Berard (12 kills) and Sara Campolieta (11 kills) to fuel the offense.  Liebig chipped in with 15 digs while Campolieta added a team best 18 digs.  Katy Rimawi and Missy Schneiderman chipped in with 12 apiece.

MCLA was once again led by senior Allison Clark's big night.  The outside hitter notched 17 kills and collected 10 digs to complete the double double.  Beatrice Lechler added 22 assists while Taylor Wiese had 10.  Chanielle Enomoto had 27 digs to lead the team while Rebecca Godbout added 12.

The Trailblazers will continue their homestand on Thursday night when they host Keene State at 7pm.
