Enomoto records her 1,000 dig, but Trailblazers fall to local foe Williams 3-0

North Adams, MA- The Williams College volleyball team received 27 assists from Alex Newton and 10 kills from Ally Ostrow as the Ephs defeated the MCLA Trailblazers 3-0 this evening in non conference action.  With the win, Williams improves to 4-4 while MCLA drops to 2-11 overall.

In the loss, Trailblazer senior Mele Enomoto recorded her 1,000th career dig in the second set to join the "grand" club at MCLA.  She ended the night with a team best 16 digs.

Williams started slow in the opening set but then ran away from MCLA taking set one 25-12.  The Ephs would get tested in the second set, but would prevail 25-19 before closing out the match with a 25-12 win in the third.

The Ephs Ostrow spearheaded the offense with her 10 kills on 37 attacks.  She added 11 digs to complete the double double for Williams.  Ten different Ephs recorded kills in the win, many off the feeds from Newton.  She added 8 digs.  On the defensive side, Daiana Takashima collected 12 digs for Williams.

For the Trailblazers, Maggie Allen ended with a team best 7 kills in a losing effort.  Alyssa Keegan added 6 for MCLA.  The Trailblazers hit just .030 in the match and were hampered by 19 attack errors.  Enomoto's 17 digs were a match best and teammate Natasha Stewart added 12 more.

The Trailblazers will host a tri match on Saturday when they battle MASCAC foe Salem State at 11am and then Elms at 3pm.  Williams will travel to Hamilton on Friday.
