Queripel's 14 kills leads MCLA to MASCAC win over Salem State

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team held off visiting Salem State 3-1 this afternoon in MASCAC action. With the win, the Trailblazers are now 3-11 on the season but are 1-1 in the conference. The Vikings fall to 6-6 and are also 1-1 in the league.
MCLA took the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-15 before Salem began to find its form. The Vikings took game three 25-19 and then were charging in the fourth set before MCLA held them off 25-23 to claim the win.
Brooke Queripel led MCLA with 14 kills while Sara LaFreniere added 10 in the win. Tessa Sestito had a nice game off the bench with 19 assists and 4 digs. Natasha Stewart collected 15 assists for MCLA. Mele Enomoto had a season best 29 digs while Stewart and Queripel added 14 and 11 respectively.
For Salem, they were paced by Jasmine Severino's 13 kills on 36 attacks. Mackenzie Salls added a match best 35 assists in defeat whihle Hannah Mullarkey notched 22 digs.
The Trailblazers and Vikings will both face off with Elms to complete the tri match.
