Volleyball evens MASCAC mark with 3-0 win over Fitchburg State

Fitchburg, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team evened their MASCAC mark at 3-3 this evening with a 3-0 win over Fitchburg State.  The Trailblazers improve to 8-15 overall with the win.  The Falcons drop to 1-17 overall and are 0-6 in the MASCAC.

MCLA took the opening set in convincing fashion as they won 25-8.  The Falcons put up quite a fight in the second and third sets however.  The Trailblazers took the second set 25-17 before holding off FSU 25-21 in the third set.

Brooke Queripel once again led the offense notching 10 kills on the night.  Melissa Hopkins and Sara LaFreniere each added 5 kills in the win.  Tayler Wiese collected 9 assist to lead MCLA while Mele Enomoto notched 14 digs.  Michele Laga ended with 10 digs for MCLA.  

Both teams were sloppy on offense as they combined for 40 attack errors. 

Fitchburg was paced by Lauren Ricciardi's 4 kills.

MCLA has a tri match on Saturday as they take on Rhode Island College and Keene State, both matches are in Keene, NH.
