Volleyball earns first win as they blank Lyons 3-0 at Home

North Adams, MA- MCLA freshman Kelly Moczulski collected 10 kills, 10 digs, and a match best 5 assists to lead the Trailblazers past visiting Mount Holyoke 3-0 this evening in non conference action in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  The win was the first for MCLA on the young season.

MCLA improves to 1-3 on the season.  The Lyons drop to 0-3.

MCLA took the opening pair of sets by identical 25-19 scores.  In each of the first two sets, the Trailblazers pulled away late to claim them.  In the third set, MCLA was in command, but MHC roared back and took a 20-19 before MCLA scored the final six points after a timeout to clinch the matchup.  Moczulski closed it out with her fifth and final ace of the night.

Moczulski notched her 10 kills on just 16 attacks.  Reagan Scattergood chipped in with 6 kills to help the offense.  Senior Tessa Sestito set up the offense with 29 assists and finished off her double double with 13 digs.  Sestito and Scattergood also notched three aces in the match.

For Mount Holyoke, they were paced by Sasha Simine led the offense with 9 kills on 23 attempts.  Brayden Walden collected a team best 16 assists.

Mount Holyoke committed 21 errors in the match while MCLA had 16.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Norwich for a tri match with the Cadets and Dean College.
