CLAREMONT, Calif.—The MCLA Volleyball team wrapped up their road trip to the Pacific Coast Classic with a non-conference matchup with the California Lutheran Regals. Chloie Garber and Elizabeth Brown tied with a team-high five kills for the Trailblazers, but a game-high six kills for Kira Mortensen paced all players in the Regals' straight-set win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MCLA started the game hot with a 5-1 run that Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) capped with an assist from Shannon O'Brien (Unionville, CT). Cal Lutheran rallied back, eventually using a 9-2 run to take a 16-13 lead before holding on for a 25-21 first-set win.
- In the second set it was all Regals, with the SCIAC powerhouse taking the set 25-5 highlighted by a 6-0 run and a 9-0 run.
- The Trailblazers showed heart in the third set, rallying back with a game effort before falling victim to a 10-3 run to close out the game.
- Chloie Garber (Eagle River, AK) and Brown each put up a team-high five kills, and O'Brien finished with a team-high 11 assists. Ezmeralda Albright (Loves Park, IL) led all players with a game-high nine digs.
UP NEXT:
On Thursday, MCLA will be back in action when they play host to Mount Holyoke College for a non-conference matchup with the Lyons in the Amsler Campus Center Gym. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
