Framingham State Slips Past Volleyball, 3-1

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.— The MCLA Volleyball team took to the road this evening for a rematch of their MASCAC championship match with the Framingham State Rams at the FSU Athletic & Recreation Center. A massive 26 kills from the Rams' Natalie Reynolds was too much for the Trailblazers to overcome, with the hosts taking a 3-1 victory.

- Series History: Framingham State leads the all-time series 31-11, including a 3-2 win in the MASCAC championship game last season on November 11th. The teams first met on November 5, 1975.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- The match was much closer than the 3-1 final score would indicate, with two sets needing additional points to determine a winner. Framingham took the first two sets and the fourth set by scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 26-24, with MCLA winning the third set 27-25.
- Framingham's Natalie Reynolds finished with a game-high 26 kills on 55 attacks, good for a .382 hitting percentage. MCLA got 13 kills from senior right-side Chloie Garber (Eagle River, AK) and another 10 from junior outside hitter Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA). Garber added on seven service aces and an assisted block to bring her point total to 20.5
- The Rams' Stella Bailey was the main person feeding Reynolds her kill chances, finishing the match with 39 of the host's 43 assists. Freshman setter Addison Decaro (Eagle River, AK) paced the Trailblazers with 19 assists, two more than junior Shannon O'Brien (Unionville, CT) 17.
- Senior libero Ezmeralda Albright (Loves Park, IL) had a game-high 29 digs, followed by 17 from Brown, 15 each from Garber and sophomore setter Beth Harris (San Antonio, TX), and 12 from Decaro.
UP NEXT:
On Saturday, MCLA will be back in action when they travel to Salem State for a MASCAC matchup with the Vikings at the Twohig Gymnasium. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
