Volleyball Falls in MASCAC Quarterfinals

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— The MCLA Volleyball Team began their playoff journey this evening, beginning with a rematch of their regular-season finale against the Worcester State Lancers at the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium. For the Trailblazers, the rematch wasn't a repeat of their game this past weekend, which MCLA took in five sets, as the Lancers took the playoff game in straight sets behind a strong 11 kill/15 dig showing from Angela Colonis.

- Series History: Worcester State leads the all-time series 31-11, including a 3-2 win by MCLA on Saturday in North Adams. The teams first met on November 20, 1975.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first two sets were heavily tilted in the favor of Worcester State, which rushed out to a 2-0 lead with set scores of 25-13 and 25-15.
- MCLA mounted a stiffer response in the third set, a set that included 14 ties and ten lead changes, reaching a crescendo at 24-24 before the Lancers closed out the set with a two-point run that included kills for Angela Colonis and Maeve Cadogan.
- Colonis finished with a game-high 11 kills and 15 digs; the Trailblazers were paced by senior right-side Chloie Garber (Eagle River, AK) with nine kills and senior libero Ezmeralda Albright (Loves Park, IL).
- The Lancers' Megan Bardis had a game-high 14 assists and four service aces, while Katherin Crateau matched Bardis with four aces as the visitors had a 14-6 edge in aces.
