Three Trailblazers Earn All-Conference Honors, Albright Named Defensive Player of the Year
2024 MASCAC All-Conference Release
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Ezmeralda Albright has been named as the 2024 MASCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year and selected to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team along with teammate Elizabeth Brown. Chloie Garber earned All-Conference Second Team honors.
Framingham State's Natalie Reynolds (Beverley, MA) was named as the Offensive Player of the Year while Westfield State's Sydney Cummins (Nicholasville, KY) took home Rookie of the Year. Bridgewater State's Tony daSilveria Jr. was named Coach of the Year.
Albright's first All-Conference selection was highlighted by four Defensive Player of the Week awards this past season as the senior libero led the MASCAC in total digs (477) and digs per set (4.72).
Named to the Second Team All-Conference each of the past two seasons, Brown earned her First Team selection finishing 2nd in the league in kills per set (2.75) and 3rd in total kills (253). The junior outside hitter also finished in the top ten in digs per set (10th) and total digs (9th).
Garber rounds out a stellar career earning All-Conference honors in each of her four seasons including her Rookie of the Year freshman year in 2021 and her First Team selection in 2022. The senior outside hitter became the first player in MCLA history to amass 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs and finished strong leading the MASCAC in service aces (64) and aces per set (.067), finishing 2nd in total kills (258), 4th in kills per set (2.69) and 7th in total digs (304).
Joining Albright, Brown, Reynolds and Cummins on the he First Team are Westfield State's Julia Bartlet (Cheshire, CT), Bridgewater State's Lily Welch (Hanson, MA) and Worcester State's Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT).
Along with Garber, Westfield State's Sarah Bingham (Reno, NV) and Julia Dangel-Garcia (Ashland, MA), Framingham State's Stella Bailey (Wrentham. MA), Mass. Maritime's Shayla Narodowg, (Wellington, CO), Salem State's Presley Shairs Salem, MA) and Katherine Crateau (North Andover, MA) were named to the Second Team.
