Assistant Dean of Athletics and Recreation Laura Mooney has announced that Marcus Gloss has been hired as the new Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) men's ice hockey coach.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Marcus to MCLA as our new men's ice hockey coach," said Mooney. "Following an extensive search, it was clear to the committee that Marcus has a clear vision along with the requisite energy and passion necessary to hit the ground running."
Gloss comes to MCLA from Buffalo State University where he served as the associate head coach for the last two seasons for the men's ice hockey program. Prior to his stint with the Bengals, Gloss was an assistant coach and director of goaltending at his alma mater Finlandia University, where as a goalie for the Lions played in 84 games and registered a .900 save percentage.
"I want to thank Laura Mooney and the entire search committee for this tremendous opportunity to lead MCLA men's hockey into its next chapter," said Gloss. "I am incredibly excited to work with this team which has had such a positive impact on the school and local community and really look forward to building on last season's postseason run."
Gloss will assume his duties immediately as the Trailblazers travel to Westfield State on October 22nd for their first of two exhibition games and kick-off their 2025-2026 campaign at home against St. Michael's College on October 31st.
